Have had a great social weekend doing Madrid shopping and sightseeing in the constant pouring rain.. One of my visitors had a positive outlook though and said - Since we don't know what we are missing we don't suffer it.. Today riding riding all the boys and alittle roundpen in the mud with chiquita-Donita. This is how she moves naturally and relaxed. Look forward to see how many natural moving horses we will see in SICAB..!!

Yes autumn has finally arrived to Madrid, 10 degrees this evening and air was high and I have to say it feels cosy! Donoso and Start was up and I got two luxury rides with them. They both want to compete and I feel like I am letting them down, but I simply don't feel up to competing now is the honest truth. I love training at home and they are all advancing and I quietly enjoy all their little steps forward. The season is coming towards its end and last year at this time I was preparing Festivo for SICAB. This year Vikinga PRE will also be represented visually around this event, but in a different more laid back way... smashing though! I let it be a surprise..

I think the guys are falling for little girly they where all abit frisky with the new girl in town. She neighs like a grown-up and Donoso just looks at her but does not say a thing, he's the coolest wisest horse, how I CAN a horse be so LOVELY?!!!! Today his daughter decided she did NOT want to enter the paddock, the same one she's been in two days was not popular today. She was probably telling me that she wants green grass, friends and what about this round boring sandpit?! So I had to do some education and tell MISS that she can't have it HER way, sorry I'm the boss. Today she also tested the wall but it was not moving even though she pulled all she could. NOT impressed with Spain..  When I'm not happy with things my genes tell me to do this;
 

..because if I do someone comes up to me and then I can take just a litte small bite of them too.. Guaranteed attention! Puh, another demanding student with a BIG personality, my favourite type... totally charming!

Sweety girl has been resting all day with all the big boys, she seems to like all the movement and happenings and looked content. Our stables have good food rhythm, music and there is always something happening to look at. My little ping-thing stands there lined up with all the machos and noone says a thing! I rode Moli and Hagge and then I tied her up like the grown ups, brushed her and cut off hair hanging out of ears. People are impressed how civilized and wise she looks for her age. Bred by my parents I said and they went ohhhh..  Yes I said (and then the teacher-educater sets in) abit different way of breeding comparing the wild things roaming around in the fields here all year around.. Blankets ON/OFF, 3x4 m stalls, inside at night, outside during the day, strawbed up to bellys, food analysis etc and grooming every day - yes, it all makes a difference, no doubt. Today Paco Rey visited our stables, I showed him Donita and he said he could see why I brought her from Sweden.. very elegant lady he said. Well, I should have asked him to take today's pictures, here are my homemade ones.
            

Well today has not been the best day in my life but tomorrow will be better I'm sure.. Tomorrow Festivo will finally arrive in the hands of his new owners that STILL have not seen him LIVE!! So I'm eagely expecting their news, they are extremely excited! Big Baby's future wife little girley Donita is now on her way, can't wait to have her here and see her when I want to!! Vikinga horse family all together in Spain!

Here is beautiful Halagador training extended trot on centerline yesterday, his great personality is coming out in his work now, he's putting alot of himself into it, this horse is super intelligent. Most of his life he never had a person, then I left him in 'macho school' where they encouraged his male side but in a military rather than in a personal way. Now he's there asking me to take him first and just let him be himsel which is SO EASY. He shines out, is a happy worker rather than a obedient macho and he's MUCH more beautiful like that!!

Donita VIK is coming to Spain! Finally I get to enjoy my little girly, I can't wait to see her! She will be arriving next week to a very very special place, a five star studfarm.. I will tell you where when she is here!

Interesting.. He is back on woodshavings as I can't totally control the straw ingredients. Cross fingers removing these components he will be tippy-toppy! He's more energetic now with the oats, I have never had a allergic horse on a oat-diet so if you have any advice and experience those are very welcome.
Tomorrow me and the horses are getting a visit from a friend and her children, its a national holiday here in Spain, another one.. Spaniards are not much for working so they find all possible excuses to take off from work. If there is a holiday on the thursday they take friday off aswell and call it a 'bridge-day'.. So I can recommend Spain for holidays and for retiring..

Here's a picture of another handsome PRE called Hispano, a brother to Halagador, that I broke and trained until he was sold. I was really into his colour even though jet black is perhaps more impressive there is a nice quality to this smoky black also.

Hello in the middle of THIS week, another one, still riding in t-shirt we have 25 degrees in the evening   only joking, I love it!

Just wanted to show you what Donita looks like right now, au natural, no posing and no spanish hairdressers are allowed at my mums stables but she takes such good care of her so fair enough! This is how I feel when I look at her

Yes I am always in the process of trying to figure out the right destiny/destination for horses. Now my mind is on our little lady Donita VIK, Donoso's firstborn. Before the accident with Aniara the plan was set, I had a transport booked for her to us in Madrid. As Aniara needed company I cancelled the trip. My plan is to use her as a breeding mare, she is the perfect little result of our chosen bloodlines YM and Cárdenas and she is the perfect representative for Vikinga PRE. She has the beauty, she has the movements. She is elegant and classy. She will be tall, she is already 150 cm. Her father is Calificado aswell as her grandfather. She is highly intelligent. She bred in the best possible way. She is special and can be a first class mare for both breeding and riding. Now another swedish championship is over and I realize I would very much like to see her in one. When Aniara recovers she will go and live with a new person that wants to ride and take care of her so there is a departure plan for her only stablemate. So I either find Donita a new person or bring her to me Spain, timeframe is 1-2 months.

We have had a summer weekend mowing the lawn, having coffee on the terrass and even a litte sunbathing! On the saturday I was either superattacked by some pollenallergy or was it a fatigue stressreaction or perhaps some bug that did me in? I have no idea but I was totally out, absolutely no energy whatsoever. Did not become 'alive' until today in the afternoon and it is probably no surprise that I ended up in stables training my horses, the best medicine for ALL conditions! Today they went on the pessoa/long-reins, excellent work for collection, topline and stretching backs.

And I have had good news from Bonnie and her Mini-Totilas happily training in Florida, they are all outraged about his movement, she will have so much fun with him! Look forward to pictures Bonnie. And our darling Talmud is happy under the palmtrees in California, they are very impressed by him and take excellent care of him too.
